MICROBIAL DETECTION Sensitively Quantitate Bacterial Cells Using a Luminescent ATP Detection Assay T he BacTiter-Glo™ Microbial Cell Viability Assay provides an easy-to-use, luminescentbased method for determining the number of viable bacterial cells in culture based on quantitation of the ATP present. ATP is an indicator of metabolically active cells. This assay works well for measuring bacteria in environmental samples, including seawater and biofilms on water filters. Just add the reagent, mix and measure luminescence. • Simplify Your Assay: The add-mixmeasure format has fewer handling steps than similar ATP assays and no injectors are required. • Get Results Quickly: Data can be recorded 5 minutes after adding and mixing reagent with your sample. • Increase Sensitivity: Measure ATP from as few as 10 bacterial cells, allowing you to detect growth sooner than absorbance-based assays. • Achieve Robust Signal: Luminescent signal is stable with a 30-minute half-life.
