TIPS & TECHNIQUES Getting Started Nucleic Acid Isolation W hen you’re ready to isolate DNA or RNA of any sort, we are here to help. If you happen to be looking at our DNA and RNA Purification kits you will find plenty of information and product categories to choose from. However, you might find the 39 options for gDNA purification products daunting. We agree that sorting it out can be complicated and have designed this tool to help: DNA and RNA Product Selector Here is a brief introduction to help you get started: 1) Using the radio buttons on the left of the page, select your format. Are you purifying DNA/RNA manually? On a high-throughput instrument? Or a format somewhere in between? 2) Next, indicate the type of sample you are working with: Buffy coat? Plant or food samples? PCR? 3) Then select the button corresponding to the nucleic acid you wish to extract: DNA? RNA?
